John A. Stewart Park

As of January 2018, I am 46 years old and I grew up in Stewart Park. My parents bought a house on West Parkway Drive in 1975 when I was 2 and moved in that spring. I’ve lived in a house on Stewart Road for 15 years now and I still visit the park for long walks with my dogs daily. It is a slice of heaven in a city that’s no longer the peaceful, friendly town I grew up in. Progress, industry and the growing population of transients are systematically destroying my little hamlet of Columbia, Missouri, but Stewart Park will forever remain an oasis.

This is a great and private neighborhood park. However, the owners graciously welcome visitors from nearby areas. Just remember when you go there that it is good policy to always clean up after your dog if you bring one. It's the right thing to do!

This is a small, old-school park. No playgrounds or exercise equipment, just a nice stretch of grass and trees with a small creek and a picturesque bridge. There’s usually at least one or two people here and dog running around having a good time.

Great little grassy park in the middle of the city. Dogs are supposed to be leashed but most are not as folks have FULL CONTROL OF THEIR DOGS. Park is maintained by locals living around the place. PLEASE CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR PETS.

walked through this park many times over the years. not a huge park, but its peaceful and its a great place to walk your dogs. also folks, be sure to have your animal leashed when in the park. :\
