Very dirty, there WAS trash all around the park.🤮 big jagged shards of glass in the playground area near the slides. What messed me up the most was that i couldn't charge my phone because they only turn the power on when you rent the pavilion...🤯 without my phone I'm lost, I'm not even from Iowa. I think it's ignorant and Disgusting that they want you to rent a pavilion just to use the power outlets. It a public area with a playground....😤😤 But to everyone that enjoys coming to this park, I hope you appreciate the fact that you don't have to see trash all over the ground wherever you look.
Jones Memorial Park is simply one of the best kept secrets in Cedar Rapids, Iowa Park District! Had an amazing time hanging out with a friend watching the geese and ducks swim around on the lagoon. The bright colored playground areas were fun just to walk by and watch the kids.
A multi use park. A nice big hill that you can sled down in the winter. A playground and pavilion on ybe top of the hill with some good views of mt trashmore as well as the downtown cedar rapids area. A disc golf course. Swimming pool. Pickel ball courts. 3 baseball diamonds.
Nice park! Lots of greenery. But there was a lot of goose poop around and it was kinda gross. Like excessive poop. So just be aware when you go. We had to wash our shoes and dogs feet after going home.
Jones Park is great for running hills in the Spring, summer, & fall seasons and you can sled down the hills in the winter. They have a great disc golf course, outdoor pool, a couple pavilions for picnics & family reunions as well as a pound. Several teams use the baseball fields & soccer fields for practices & tournaments.
