same thing i just wrote about tobin park. the park does have a skateboarding area, baseball field and a bldg i am not sure what it is that has to do with metro health. i never stop there but go all the way to the back where the trailhead is. only one light so gets dark and creepy. you're not supposed to be on the trails past sunset anyway for your own safety reasons of course. but you can go back to those other areas in the park that are lit up until 11 pm. park opens 5 am like walker ranch and others. the lead to the trail winds around and there is a low part where if it rains alot the water goes over the path but it has cut outs in the concrete to let the water drain. i have only seen that once about 15 years ago. if you go to the left on the sidewalk it takes you to tobin park about 1.45 miles according to the small metal marker on the side. go to the right and it takes you to mcallister park - 2.95 miles away according to the marker. I will have to try it one day. there is also a fenced in dog park there at lbp and picnic tables under a roof with open sides- small pavilion? also a couple of portalets there maintained by cortez. the maps at the trailhead entrance and tobin as well as all other sa parks tell you where you are and where the trails are and other parks in relation to "you are here".

It's a great trailhead start that leads to all parts of tge trail system. Needs more police presence and entire facility is tired and needs alot of TLC. The skatepark is blocked by several old buildings and needs to be out in open with unobstructed views. I honestly cut my ride short and returned to car fearing a break in . More cameras along trails and parking lots would be incredibly helpful.

Great public pool! Some times you get what you pay for, especially in terms of free! But I was pleasantly surprised by the nice helpful staff, and clean pool. Pool is open from 10a-5p, closed tues. No admission fee, just sign in. There's a shadow shallow splash pad area to start with, and then the deepest it goes is 4.5 ft We were offered a water vest and goggles to use for free. You can consume water, electrolyte drinks, fruit and veggies inside the pool area. Anything else can be eaten outside the fence. Only downside, is there's not tons of seating. But if you bring your own chairs, there's plenty of spots to set up! We'll be back again soon!!
