I’ve visited this park multiple times and always enjoy hiking the loop around the lake, especially the wooden skybridge, which is a highlight of the trail. The surrounding forest and wildlife are particularly engaging in spring and summer, when the birds put on a show. If you’re lucky, you may spot alligators or ospreys along the way. The trails are shared by bikers, joggers, runners, hikers, and walkers of all ages. Courtesy and patience are important, especially when passing individuals or groups, as some sections of the trail can be fairly narrow. Bikers can approach quietly, so staying alert is advised. The bathrooms near the parking lot are clean, but there are no restrooms along the trails. A small playground for young children is located near the lot. There are a few spots suitable for spreading out a blanket for a picnic or sunbathing, though fire ants are common and hard to avoid. Fishing is allowed, but swimming is not. Leashed dogs are welcome on the trails. To help keep the park pristine, please use the litter bins provided or carry your rubbish out with you. After heavy rain, many parts of the park can become muddy, so plan accordingly and wear appropriate footwear.

Great place to mountain bike, hike, or trail run. Beautiful trails both of easy and moderate technicality (speaking from a hiker/runner perspective). There's a bathroom in the parking lot and plenty of picnic tables. You can easily access Tom Brown Park and JR Alford Park by taking the trails in this park. There are also fingers and docks to fish from or just enjoy the view. There's a practice area for mountain bikers as well. This is one of my favorite spots to exercise, have a picnic, or relax/read/paint.

Lovely hike on the east side of Tallahassee. It's not completely flat and smooth so worthy of sturdy shoes. The wooden bridge takes you up into beautiful live oak trees hung with spanish moss. A perfect 10 out of 10 for a 3 mile walk. Park near the bmx bike park near piney z lake for access to a nice clean rest room.

My favorite walk/hike in the area. ❤️ For individuals, families and groups. Great bike trails to rated easy to difficult. Fishing and padding allowed- no motors on the water or trails. One trail connects to Tim Brown Park.

Very nice trail for walking, jogging, cycling, or dog walking. Roughly 3 miles around from central parking. Very scenic and clearly marked. Fishing allowed from fishing peninsulas (fingers) along the trail.
