The new dog park is a great addition. It is incredibly well-designed and well-regulated. Visitors must preregister through Southfield Parks and Recreation. I had to submit proof of pet license, vaccine records, and take a quiz on identifying signs of dog aggression. After completing these steps, they give you a key fob to enter the park.

At first it looks like a big open field. That belies the fact that it's a big, open field! Plenty of space for baseball, softball, soccer, field hockey, football and running and playing. It's a picnic ready to happen. There are some benches scattered about. Away from Lahser Road are the woods you find referenced in the name. They are rather deep. Each time I go there I discover something new and unique. It's a quiet area, nice for a walk or to walk the dog. There is plenty of parking on the Lahser Road side entrance.
Hidden gem of a park--lots of open space for picnics or pickup games. There are robust woods in the back. Quiet and nice place to relax during the summer.
