Wonderful and clean park. This park gets a bad name due to gang activities but during the day it is a lovely destination with birds, turtles, egrets, and more. Highly recommend visiting.

Park has become better over the years. I grew up in the neighborhood next to here and Libby Elementary (almost 40 years). It used to be way more dangerous with the gangs. Even during the day, I could be weary about going through. Nowadays, I recommend avoiding going at night, even just before sunset. The playground and picnic area have been improved over the years. I'll also see people walking their dogs.

Do your kids like nature? If they do, this is the perfect place for them! Not only are the play structures fun to run around on, but there’s a 1/2 mile paved path around the lake where you’ll find all sorts of animal life. We saw turtles, ducks, and cranes and even watched a crane catch a fish and swallow it whole! I really want to give this park a higher rating, but the bathrooms really need improvements in order for me to add another star! 📍504 Calle Montecito, Oceanside, CA 92057 🚙Free street parking 💰This park is free 🎠The 2 play structures are built on a mulch ground surface and has both standard and bucket swings. No shaded canopies over playground. 🚽There are restrooms but they don’t offer much privacy. They are kind of just brick walls with a toilet and sink (that doesn’t even work) 🧺Multiple picnic tables under pavilion 🪑Park benches at playground 🏖Playground is near the beach 🖼Lawn 🌳Shady trees 🛣Good distance away from busy roads 🚲Paved path perfect for small bikes, scooters, roller blades, and strollers 🦆Bring some food to feed the ducks 🛹Mini skate park across the street 🏐Sand volleyball court

Such a beautiful and tranquil setting! The playground is nice and quiet for the kids and the lake is beautiful for a lovely summer walk! Love this place and was lucky to stumble upon it while passing through Oceanside!
