Really good playground area all in a giant sand pit. Feels very safe and it got its own toys. After play you return the toys to the shelf.

Such a cool park for little kids and for big kids to play on the nearby courts and fields. Nice sidewalk trails to walk around the whole park, scooter or ride bikes.

As a 40-year-old mom of four, finding a park that caters to everyone’s energy levels and interests is no small feat. Liberty Park in San Clemente, however, rises to the occasion beautifully. Here’s our family’s take: Playground: The playground is fully gated with two entrances, providing a secure environment for the kids to explore. The play surface is primarily sand, which the children loved for digging and building. The equipment includes baby bucket swings, standard swings, a climbing net, spring riders. Thoughtful features like a telescope and sand play areas kept the younger ones engaged. The playground also boasts shade covers, offering relief during sunny days. Sports Facilities: For our sports enthusiasts, the park offers a variety of options: • Baseball/Softball Field: An unlighted field that’s perfect for a casual game or practice session. • Basketball Court: A lighted court, though maintenance occurs on Mondays from 11 am to 3 pm, so plan accordingly. • Tennis Court: Also lighted and shares the same maintenance schedule as the basketball court. • Multi-purpose/Soccer Field: A spacious area suitable for soccer or other field activities. Walking/Jogging Loop: Encircling the park is a 1,350-foot-long loop, ideal for walking or jogging. It’s a great way for the adults to get some exercise while keeping an eye on the kids. The park has a dedicated parking lot shared with the athletic fields. While it can get busy during soccer games or baseball/softball sessions, can be tricky but can always head to the top. Additional Amenities: The park features benches right on the sand area, allowing parents to relax while supervising their children. There are also drinking fountains available, ensuring everyone stays hydrated during play. Final Thoughts: Liberty Park masterfully blends recreation, safety, and convenience. It’s a place where memories are made, laughter is shared, and everyone—from toddlers to grandparents—finds their slice of joy. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, it’s a must-visit destination for families seeking quality time together.
