Love our end of the street mini park. Great for launching kayaks and inflatables!

Seattle’s first ever street end park also happens to be its most charming. Here you can watch boats go across lake Union, launch a kayak or paddle board, or enjoy the one-of-kind artwork that decorates this park. There may be times when it’s quiet here, but if the weather is nice, you can count on there being many visitors hanging out. Luckily there is plenty of seating between the tables and chairs closer to the road and the tile-decorated seating near the water. It even has a functioning water fountain! While you’re enjoying your time here, take a moment to reflect on its history, detailed in tiles behind the park sign (and pictured below). In short, this park was transformed from a junk pit to its current form by members of the community. It survived some arduous episodes but came out better than ever, enhanced by community care all along the way. The tile art was created by a partnership of artist Maggie Smith and volunteering neighbors in 2002. You won’t be disappointed by a visit to this beautiful park.

I was disappointed to see several bags of dog waste left on the ground. It seems that some people are picking up after their dogs, which is great, but then not actually disposing of the bags properly. It’s disheartening to see such carelessness in an otherwise clean and peaceful environment. It would be wonderful if the park could add more trash bins or signs reminding visitors to take their dog waste all the way to the bin.

The community clearly loves this little park and added tables and artwork. It's really lovely. You could hand launch kayaks and such. Lovely water view too.

I sure love Seattle, so many joyous little tucked-away spots like this which gives each neighborhood so much magic.
