Visited Magic Johnson Park in Compton and was surprised by how large it is. There’s a big pond with ducks everywhere, and I even saw people fishing. It feels like a lot of nature right in the middle of the city. There’s plenty of space to walk, relax, and explore. The park has walking trails and lots of open areas, so it never really feels crowded. Parking was convenient as well. It’s honestly so big that it’s hard to describe everything that’s there, but if you’re looking for a park with room to breathe and enjoy the outdoors, this is a great place to visit. Not a critic, just sharing how it felt.

Magic Johnson Park is a lively and welcoming green space. Perfect for families, sports enthusiasts, or anyone looking for a relaxing walk, the park has basketball courts, playgrounds, and open lawns. The community vibe is strong — people jogging, kids playing, and families enjoying picnics create a cheerful atmosphere. A great spot to connect with nature and local life while staying active.

I have a senior dog and she’s a slow walker now, so taking her to the park in a wagon allows me to walk longer distance. This is a wonderful place for families and kids. Reason I took a star off is there are some areas that need maintenance. I will go back with my dog I think she likes it.

Couch, junk and drug paraphernalia has been there for a month now. Please remove it. Theres a male and female taking ownership of the area actively using drugs and being hostile towards the public. The woman in particular steals packages from the neighborhood. Please clean this up. I have contacted the city and they informed this is a park and recreation matter. I have contacted MJPark at the phone number listed and no response. We love this park but not this!

The park is amazing. Park is huge with two ponds with a lot of geese and ducks. You will enjoy your time walking around the park, biking around the park, running around the park, a lot of trees with shade for you to sit and chill. The park has a lot food vendors and ice cream trucks. Anybody that comes to this park will have an absolutely wonderful experience and an absolute Joy.
