My dog LOVES this park. Its one of three I go to. The large dog section is very large . There are always dogs to play with. Even if you get there and there is like 1 other person with their dog, within 15 minutes more start to pile in. They have faucets and water buckets and there is also a trail there outside of the dog park. One of my favorite places to go with my doggo.

This is a dog park and a beautiful walk around a pond outside the dog park. Nice place for 20lb and under but the 20lb and over is a HUGE area that curves around and up or down a hill. You cannot see one end of the entrance from the other unless you walk about 1,000 feet. It technically should be broken up into 3 sizes because a 25lb dog should not be mixing with 80lb dogs. Too big for the 20lb and less and too small for the larger more aggressive dogs. I also would not want my dog out of sight. Many dogs run the entire length of the park which makes them out of your sight if you cannot walk fast or far enough yo keep up with your un-leashed dog. I found dog run area too larger for dogs to be visible by owner. Path around pond to be too rocky for dogs and humans. Too many wet areas to allow children to run.

One of, if not the best dog park in Charlotte. Lots of regulars, very spacious, mostly no issues with owners not addressing behavior issues, tons of dogs, sometimes people bring in small children which is a liability for the dogs and explicitly against the rules of the dog park, but that’s my biggest complaint. Also, a lot of races are held at the park throughout the year, and especially the youth track and field takes up the entire parking so that you cannot use the dog park on some days.

We’ve been taking our dog here since he was about 5 months and it’s been so great at socializing him. Other owners are responsible about monitoring and cleaning up after their dogs. The park is huge with plenty of space for dogs to run out their energy with a separate area for dogs under 20 lbs.

We enjoyed a nice walk around the lake before heading into the 20lbs and up dog area. It was nice, some smaller dogs were inside when we arrived which was worrisome. So we waited for them to leave.
