McCambridge Recreation Center

Excellent morning celebrating our Veterans at McCambridge Park Veteran's Day Ceremony. We have a great community of citizens. Here are photos of our veteran VFW Ship 8310 The Gudgeon Commander, Color Guard, and City of Burbank elected officials and friends.

They need to be more organized for drop-in volleyball. The same teams were playing again and again. I was there from when it open, and I didn't even get to play. The players are the ones telling the park workers what to do . If you are new, I wouldn't recommend it. It seems that the regulars own the courts need a better system instead of pleasing them.

Really nice large park. We take our dog here and go to Meetups for pokemon Go. Lots of parking at the park and around the neighborhood.

Weird hours of operation, asking a question lead to unhelpful reply, odorous interior. Too many people in pool at one time, lifeguard putting finger in fanny, often times piles of foliage on the ground for more than a few days, birds are nice they even poop off the ground up in the trees, sometimes rabbit is at this park. The people are not nice. The people inside the park on glenoaks side referred me to some place that is known for a long time to be closed / far away when I was there... very obvious giving bad advice and telling me / people to do things that are counterproductive. It is not a pleasant place very often. I have been there maybe 20 times in 4-6 months living just across the street... it's sad.

Each year the city of Burbank hosts commemorative services for Veterans Day and Memorial Day at the memorial rose garden here. Local dignitaries and state representatives usually attend. This is sort of like a war-buddy reunion since veterans and their families always come too. Boy scouts place roses on the memorial monuments - one for each name - and a local realtor sponsors a jet fly-over. These are televised on The Burbank Channel & YouTube. This is where the rubber meets the road. Pay your respects anytime.
