Great dog park. The dogs and their owners were all friendly and welcoming. The dog park is adjacent to a children's play area as well.
McCoy dog park . I haven't visited the regular city park yet , only the one next to it which is for dogs. The city seems to take care of this park over the gus Allen Park up the street . Excellent lighting. The gate doesn't swing open very well ,and gets stuck mid way. There's Pooper scoopers and the bags are available( cause no one wants to step in a landmine or pile), doggie pools, shelters over a few tables, it's just too bad there isn't more area to have sections or divided off for the big gentle giants or even the ankle height snappers or just ones that aren't in the mood to mingle or be sniffed Mine is so excited to see other dogs since he gets picked on at home by 2 cats, he gets sidetracked then we get home and he still has to go potty.
Great dog park, 2 areas for small and large dogs, clean, water. The nice thing about the park is that there are many paths to walk your dogs on leach in addition to fenced areas. Lots of parking and playground for your human kids also.
Good location, shady areas to sit. I was happy to find it while visiting Galveston so my dog and I could rest .
