PROS ➕ Extensive trail system ➕ Amenities CONS ➖ None Date visited: 10/28/2025 This huge park offers a range of activities for people of all ages. At my age, however, there is only one that I can fully enjoy—walking. So, I decided to hike through two short trails in the western region of the park, which I hoped would be fairly unoccupied that day. The parking lot is small but almost empty. There are restrooms and a water fountain nearby, and they are still available for the season. It’s wet but not chilly, typical of an autumn day. The ground is moist, but there is no mud—or at least none that I noticed sticking to my boots afterward. The two trail entrances lie close to each other and feel like one big loop. The dirt path is covered with fallen leaves but otherwise well maintained and free of debris or deadwood. The air smells of rot and decay after the rain. The sounds of modern life are dampened significantly thanks to the thick woods and remote location. It takes me less than half an hour to finish the trails. I saw a few walkers on the way out; none seemed eager to see another human face in the forest. I haven’t tried everything this park offers, but it’s safe to say this is one of the best parks in the area.

My hygienist kindly suggested this delightful adventure. I would like to extend my gratitude to Afina WestChester! Despite the presence of signs indicating an admission fee, I did not encounter anyone accepting my donation. The trails are quite straightforward to navigate, with only a few trail markings, especially when you enter the trails. The low humidity and abundant sunlight make for a perfect hiking day.

This campground doesn't get great reviews but I have zerp complaints!! The bathhouse was always clean and not any spiders. I think because the lights are motion activated. We stayed at site 115 and yes it was a little rocky but you always have different types of soil when you camp. Know what you are getting here if you are in a trailer or rv. There is so much to do at the park itself, bike riding, decent hiking, water activities, the ice cream at the shop was amazing. Nice people too. Can't wait to get back!

A Great Park location that requires a pass. You can rent paddle boats and fish. They often have events and programming for families. Great nature spot with many benches to sit and enjoy. Also access to an 8 mile multi-purpose trail or other shorter nature walking trails.
