The upgraded playground includes pathways and features that have greater accessibility for children with disabilities and who use mobility devices. Our son uses a walker and he was able to walk from the parking lot down to the playground by himself, which makes him so happy and gives him confidence. We are so grateful for Mills River for being inclusive of children with disabilities! They even have signage reminding patrons to respect disability parking spaces - amazing!

It’s sad to see what once was my favorite park with amazing riverfront walking trails evolve into a no-access snake pit. With the fields now unkept, I felt very uncomfortable from a safety perspective esp on the back side of the loop. What a shame, I understand Helene is being blamed but that was nearly a year ago

Really horrible park and it used to be a good one. There was some strange lady hired by the park, standing by the gate. I was trying to settle my dogs as I entered and she made rude comments about how the other owners should control their dogs so they don't run up on the gate, and how I should hurry my dogs through even though they got excited. I personally will not come back here and I would be pissed if I lived in Mills River and my money went to support this. I would also fire her pretty quickly. She clearly knows nothing of dogs or dog parks and how getting them in and calming them at the gate is important. Also how dogs naturally charge the gate and that is not the owners fault. Just like socializing with humans it takes them a minute to get used to each other. The total time it took me to enter was probably one minute and thirty seconds for perspective on how ridiculous this woman was.

Awesome park! Great for running - back loop near the river is about .6 mile and front loop around soccer fields is about .25.

I just love this beautiful spot. Whenever I visit my family here, we always come here for a picnic and splash around in the water. It’s such a serene area, especially in these crazy days of the virus it really does help to come and reconnect with nature. I never have stopped off at the dog park, but I hear it’s great. There’s a lot of picnic area, there’s a fishing pier, and a kids park as well. This is a great spot to stop and enjoy how beautiful our world really is.
