Our family spent a warm Fall afternoon here and we really enjoyed all the amenities. Plenty of parking space and there is a Gateway Center to help visitors connect and learn about nature. There’s maps throughout the area where we explored to guide us. Restrooms were clean and flushable. The area is also wheelchair accessible. There’s tons of trails to choose from. Most trails were paved or on bridges. Other trails were on dirt or gravel. We sat down by the gravel landing next to the river to bird watch, did some fishing and caught a small mouth bass, rode our bikes on the paved trails, walked on the bridges (no bikes), and played at the playground. We enjoyed the playground. Parents, please keep your eyes on your kids since the stairs are of natural stone steps. The stairs are uneven, different heights/lengths and some steps were covered in loose gravel from minor erosions so accidents can happen. Overall, it was a lovely park and we would recommend and return to explore.

It's a lovely day to attend the grand opening of Mississippi park on 9/6, enjoying many free activities, archery, biking, treetop trails, arts, even got a free fishing pole! We look forward to visiting again to see the beautiful colors in the fall.

This park has so much to offer. The free parking lot is large but on the weekends this is a popular spot so be prepared to possibly Park further away from the main area and walk. There are multiple different playgrounds and lots of nature-inspired equipment for kids of varying ages. Many different picnic areas to choose from and lots of hiking and walking and biking trails. The Nature Center has lots of things for kids to do and does have snacks in case you didn't pack any and you get hungry. They have bike rentals. They also offer things to borrow such as yard games or exploration backpacks. There is access to the Mississippi. There are fish and reptiles in the Nature Center and they offer lots of different events and programs every month.

This is such a beautiful place! The trails are really easy to walk whether it was paved, gravel or natural path. Would highly recommend to give this park a try!

Loved the new Mississippi Gateway Regional Park! The playground is awesome, the trails are easy for little legs, and there’s so much space to explore. My kids could’ve stayed all day. We enjoyed the water play area on the last day of the season before they shut off the water. Reminds me of the water area at Tamarack Nature Center. Mom tip: go on a weekday if you can — way less busy and way more peaceful. We’ll definitely be back!
