Found this little park on one of my early evening walks. Decided to explore by this area and found this park. It looks more like a dog park or something like that. There are no kid’s playing structures at all. There are two small wooden bridges crossing a dry and small canal of water. Today, I just saw various people with their dogs playing on the big and open area. There is a water fountain for people and a low one for dogs to drink water from. I saw I think two seating tables. The park has two entrances. One is open the takes you to and from a neighborhood. The other entrance, almost facing El Toro Rd, is fenced up, and you can open the metal door by bringing the fence latch up. No parking lot here, at least I did not see one. Unless it is strictly made for the Montbury neighborhood, but I don’t believe that is the case. Only parking is street parking, as you come in from El Toro Rd and turn into Northcrest Dr.
Nice park, ruined by people who treat it like a dog park and have there dogs running around. Most owners think they have control of their dog but as i witnessed and had to deal with this evening, they do not. My dog has been attack as a puppy and i rescued her and love all the parks in mission viejo but unfortunately she gets defensive and maybe scared when dogs run up to us. Of course orange county does not know how to enforce leash laws. Nice little gated park but it is an unofficial dog park so beware.
This park is a lot nicer than it first seems once you walk through it. Give it a try
Please becarefull my puppy got attacked and was biten by another dog . He had 16 stitches . Was hurt very bad. The other owner did not care as to what happened.
Montbury Park is beautiful. However two stars are lost. These are lost due to the animal waste smells coming from around the entrance. Smells like that will turn people away. It might be better for it if it was a bark park.
