EDIT: Something has to be done about the knats! I dont know what, if anything, can be done about them but they definitely take the enjoyment out of walks and time in the park. I was going to reduce to 4 stars because swatting at the knats, getting them in my face, etc. was getting really annoying the last few visits. But I reduced to 3 stars cos today, a whole group of them got in my mouth and almost made me throw up! I know the park is about nature and conservation but the knats have got to go! It wouldnt be so bad if they were flying over the water or the grass areas...but they're ALWAYS on the walking path, practically from start to finish! I still love this park but I'm leaving my review at 3 stars until the knat problem goes away. // OG review: Probably the best park in Springfield! Very pretty, always clean. You get a good walk around the path. Lots of botanical/educational things as you walk. Nice pond/lake and waterfall. A few rivers to play in when the water isn't too high. Ducks, geese, squirrels and bunnies. Large fountain you can sit and enjoy. Lots of places to sit around the path. Very dog-friendly! Absolutely recommended!

Been a place i have always gone to clear my mind over the years. Heck i moved to washington state and came back for my grandfathers funeral and still made sure to visit this park to clear my head and talk with an old friend. This park is ada accessible while providing plenty of parking. I highly suggest the hasta garden… who knew green could be done/look good in so many ways🤯. Any one of any age will find something they like here so bring a book a friend or just yourself and touch grass.

We did Gardens Aglow for the first time as a family this year and had a great time. I definitely recommend going a little earlier around 5 with younger kids to avoid huge crowds. By 6 parking and crowds were definitely getting busy, but at 5 it was dark enough to still enjoy the lights!

This is a beautiful park. Lots of beautiful flowers and trees and great walking paths. Ducks, butterflies, birds and other wildlife. It’s definitely my favorite park in Springfield. I just wish the bathroom was open later. They lock the building up pretty early considering how much daylight remains and people going for evening walks. I couldn’t find a bathroom that was open which is frustrating. It’s huge park so maybe there’s an open bathroom somewhere but I didn’t find it.
