It's one of my favorite places. There are various distances of hikes. The only issue I find is the lack of bathrooms available being very spaced out in regards to the hikes. It's a beautiful place that I visit as often as possible. I've also camped here 3 times.

This park is an absolute gem within the Newport News city limits. Multiple hiking trails that extend for miles around the reservoir. A 5.3 mile bike/horseback trail that connects to an historic George Washington revolutionary war site and the yorktown battlefields. Multiple campground loops for tents or campers and multiple of those are waterfront. A disc golf course. Various festivals hosted here. A discovery center (open select hours) with kid friendly nature exhibits. A city visitor center and gift shop. You can really get away and take a breath within city limits. The campground building has undergone a recent renovation. The canoe/paddleboat rentals could use an upgrade. Geocaching is done here. This park is large and a true benefit to this area.

Beautiful park with good walking trails. Plenty of clean restrooms. You are able to rent row boats, peddle boats and pavilions. Also has camping, golf course, disc golf and horse riding trail.

The light displays are very nice and can be enjoyed by people of all ages. They make small changes and improve every year. It just keeps getting better!
