Great place to walk your dog(s). Small picnic area, Crow Creek and greenway runs west of the park with geese, birds, and ducks. Doggie Port available, also. Nice landscaping and very clean.

The new playground is amazing! My kids and I need fave local park! There is a need to add trash cans though so the community can keep it clean and thriving!

Nice little park and quiet for the most part. Only part I dislike is that it isnt really fenced in. Always very clean. Pretty small parking lot but it does go right up to the play area/sand pit. Large open green space available for frisbee or outdoor games too. Couple of picnic benches near by. No restroom though I dont think.

Ah, Optimist Park, the hallowed grounds that bear witness to my up-and-coming teenage years. Just the mere mention of its name sends me spiraling down a memory lane drenched in youthful mischief and a hint of questionable decision-making. Brace yourselves, dear readers, for I shall regale you with tales of nostalgia and the peculiar cravings that haunted our dazed and confused souls.
Optimist Park, with its time-worn paths and weathered benches, holds a special place in my heart. Many a day was spent here, lost in the haze of teenage rebellion and an insatiable desire for snack food to quell the voracious dry mouth that accompanied our misadventures. Oh, the quest for sustenance amidst the chaos! It was an integral part of the Optimist Park experience.
As we ventured beneath the bridges, seeking out the wise sages of the street, our makeshift hobo pads became a sanctuary of questionable negotiations. Convincing these honorable souls to procure the forbidden elixir of adulthood—booze—and the forbidden sticks of delight—cigarettes—was an art form in itself. The memories of these clandestine encounters still make me chuckle and cringe in equal measure.
And then there was Crow Creek, our kingdom of wild imagination. Armed with makeshift nets and buckets, we embarked on expeditions to catch crawdads, our brave conquests filling us with a sense of triumph that only youthful adventurers can truly comprehend. The battle cries, the laughter, and the occasional splash—these moments defined the essence of Optimist Park.
But let us not forget the anthills that dotted the fields, for they served as our miniature battlegrounds. With the mighty M80s in hand, we embarked on demolition missions, gleefully blowing up ant colonies with equal parts awe and glee. Ah, the innocence of youth, forever etched into the very fabric of Optimist Park.
Dear readers, if I could rate this haven of nostalgia more than the customary five stars, I would gladly bestow upon it a perfect ten. The sheer force of the memories that surge through my veins when I step foot in this park is unparalleled. It is a testament to the transformative power of a place that witnessed our tumultuous journey into adulthood, peppered with moments of recklessness and an indomitable spirit.
So, if you find yourself yearning for a trip down memory lane, where youthful exuberance and audacious adventures reign supreme, look no further than Optimist Park. It may not have the amenities of a fancy amusement park, but it holds the key to a treasure trove of nostalgia. Be prepared to laugh, cringe, and perhaps shed a tear or two, for Optimist Park is a sanctuary of recollections that will forever warm the cockles of your heart.

Nice little park to take the kids to, however if you're taking toddlers to this park please keep them under close supervision. The playground area is very near to 9th Street on the south side of the park and Crow Creek to the West. Also be aware, there are no public restrooms... .
