Overton Park is one of the best parts of Memphis. There are trails through the old forest for walking running and biking. There is a large gated off-leash dog park that has benches and plenty of shade (something to keep in mind though is that it does get pretty crowded and rowdy in the evenings). The playground is fantastic and there is a lake with a walking path around it. There are picnic tables, restrooms, trash cans, and water fountains throughout, and the whole park is very well-kept and clean.

Overton Park is a great outdoor spot to spend with family that doesn’t cost anything. Pack a lunch and enjoy the entire day! So many activities that are fun for people of all ages. Even if you just want to sit and watch the little ones discover new ways to have fun without their devices.

Lovely native woodland in East Memphis, with 200ft tall trees, spared from the bulldozers when Interstate construction was uncontrolled in the 1960s due to the efforts of the local community. A peaceful spot.

This was an awesome zoo. My wife loves zoos and we see a lot of them. The facility was impressive and well maintained. The enclosures are very state of the art and do justice to the natural habitat of the animals. The price was very reasonable and they have price reciprocal agreement with A.Z.A. zoo memberships.
