Peace Mound Park in Weston, Florida, is a serene and historically rich destination that offers visitors both natural beauty and a glimpse into the area's ancient past. Nestled around a picturesque lake, the park features well-maintained trails ideal for walking, jogging, or simply enjoying the tranquil environment. The playground, equipped with modern, safe equipment, is a hit among families, providing a delightful space for children to play. Beyond its recreational appeal, Peace Mound Park holds significant historical importance. The area was once inhabited by the Tequesta Indians, a peaceful Native American tribe that settled near Biscayne Bay and along Florida's southeastern coast. Archaeological evidence suggests that the Tequesta thrived in this region for over 2,000 years before European contact. Visitors to the park can explore the Weston History Walk, which offers informative displays about the Tequesta and the early history of the area. This educational aspect adds depth to the park experience, allowing guests to connect with the rich cultural heritage of South Florida. Whether you're interested in a peaceful retreat, a family outing, or a journey into the past, Peace Mound Park provides a unique blend of leisure and learning opportunities.

We were sailing out of Fort Lauderdale for a cruise and needed somewhere to rest before sailing with the kids. This park was super peaceful and lovely. Very clean restrooms. Definitely stop if you have time!

This location has a Weston history walk. It is dog friendly. It contains a bike fix it station, there is a lighted exercise path, a fishing dock, picnic shelters with tables, shaded playground, restrooms, and of course, sat on a beautiful water view with lovely landscaping

We stopped here to take a break from driving and it was so much more than we expected. The story telling through the tiles is such a clever way to learn about the history of the Tequesta people. Beautiful surroundings and we loved the ducks 😊
