Great place for a quick getaway hike. I don't mind and understand the homeless situation but oh my god do you have to live in your own filth. I sometimes bring a bag and lightweight pickup trash but these people don't care and are nasty dirty. I went there on the 4th of July last year covert situation being what it was and it was an awesome spectacle you can watch fireworks going off all around the city 360° view.

As a native of this city? It is such a sad site to see. My Grandfather pitched horseshoes here in the 70s and I played baseball here. Its so sad what a run down condition its in.
