Some friends told me that this parks looks like Central Park in NY, and that true!
You can enjoy to walk, to run, to lay on the grass, or to ride with an e-bike.
Big and clean in the heart of Atlanta is the right place to take a good breath far from the horrible traffic of the city!

I visited Piedmont Park on a sunny afternoon and it ended up being one of the more relaxing parts of my trip to Atlanta. The park is pretty big, with lots of open green space, shady trees, and paths that are easy to walk or bike around. I just wandered without much of a plan, and it felt nice being outdoors in the middle of the city — it’s one of those places where you forget you’re surrounded by downtown buildings.
There were a fair number of people there — joggers, families with kids, folks walking dogs — but it didn’t feel overly crowded. I grabbed a coffee from a little vendor near the entrance and found a quiet spot on the grass to sit for a while, just watching people go by and enjoying the view over the pond. The skyline backdrop makes it feel a bit more special than your typical city park, and it’s a lovely place to take a breather if you’ve been doing a lot of sightseeing.
There are also spots to play sports and benches scattered around, so you can either relax or do something a bit more active. I didn’t plan ahead for anything specific, but still ended up having a full afternoon exploring different parts of the park.
Overall, Piedmont Park felt like a great place to slow down for a bit — perfect for a picnic, a walk, or just sitting in the shade on a nice day. Simple, pleasant, and worth a stop if you’re in Atlanta.

Piedmont Park is truly the heart of Atlanta! Whether you’re here for a morning jog, a family picnic, or one of the many festivals, the park delivers every time. The views of Midtown’s skyline over Lake Clara Meer are stunning, and the walking trails are well‑maintained and inviting.
There’s something for everyone: dog parks, playgrounds, sports fields, and plenty of open space to relax. It’s clean, safe, and always buzzing with energy while still offering quiet corners to unwind.
If you’re visiting Atlanta, this is a must‑see spot. And if you live here, you already know it’s a five‑star gem in the city.

Shakey Knees 2025
My boyfriend and I had an amazing time on Saturday 9/20/25 at Piedmont Park for Shakey Knees. We went to see Tv on the Radio. They were absolutely fabulous. We also enjoyed seeing Johnny Marr, Cage the Elephant, and of course My Chemical Romance. We got the GA+ tickets, and the ammenties were great. It was nice to stretch out and have enough room to relax. The AC bathrooms were top notch, and we loved the Comp drink options. We got food at Get Baked, Mosh Burger and the Pizza joint. I absolutely loved the veggie burger that Mosh makes. This was my second Shakey Knees festival, and my boyfriend's first time in the ATL. Such incredible memories! Can't wait to see the line-up for next year's festival. Thank you Shakey Knees!
