My favorite place to start a kayak journey to the mouth where it meets with Lake Michigan. And it starts early because I love to see the sunrise, but there is what looks like an island and it's an island of painting rocks and drift wood. I honestly could look through the rocks for hours. I can't wait until it warms up. If you see this and it encourages you to venture down the river to the mouth, please drop a message/comment and let me know how it turned for you m
Path-- Views are spectacular, but the path is not very passable. Lots of grasses, mud, and swamp along the path. Unless you want to get full of mud right now, skip. The path does have piles of wood chips along it, but it is not complete yet. We were only able to go out maybe at the quarter of a mile and had to turn around. Unless you'd like to do some serious bushwhacking, but we haven't worked up to that yet as a family. Once they put the path in, it will be very nice.
Just a small park with trails and water access. Plenty of spots for fishing, kayaking, hiking and biking
Nice area, great area for kayaking, no idea for fishing but talked to a few fishing there and nothing. But overall nice little area with trail would recommend to bring bug stray the horseflies and deer flies are killer lol.
Nice little park. No restrooms, basically a canoe or kayak launching site. Perhaps a trail connects here also.
