Ekko loves the dog park. And all his friends there! I love that it’s a membership too. It’s the biggest reason he can go to a dog park - there is that extra safety pillar since all dogs need to be vaxxed, and fixed. People in the comments are forgetting that dog parks can be dangerous but the members here keep my mind at ease

Pooch Park is an amazing place for dogs of all sizes! There is a dedicated small dog area, an agility area, and a puppy area. Almost all of the dogs and owners we've met over the past 8 years of going almost daily have been friendly and welcoming. There is soooo much room for the dogs to run as well as two shelters and multiple tables and benches throughout the park. There is a water station and bowls for drinking water but it is turned off during winter months so remember to bring water for your dog. Be aware it is members only and the gates require a bar coded membership card to unlock. The annual membership fee is very reasonable and you will need to provide paper work signed by your vet proving your dog is up to date on vaccinations when you apply for membership. Also be aware dogs older than 1 year must be spayed or neutered. No intact adult dogs are allowed!

We love taking our two pups to the Skokie Park District Pooch Park and they are always pooped when we get home! There is a lot of space for dogs of all sizes to run around and play, along with a separate fenced-in areas, one for small dogs and one with agility equipment to play on. The grounds are always clean and well taken care of and there are several areas with benches to sit and watch the fun.

membership only — should be more prominently advertised as such on Google. My dog and I have gone to dog parks around the country as we’re roadtripping. Came into Chicago and needed to stall for about an hour, so figured I’d take my pup to a dog park so she could make some buddies. As it turns out, parking is impossible near any dog parks in Chicago proper, so I thought Evanston might be a safe bet since it’s more of a suburb. Fought traffic for an hour to get here only to find out that a public park has privatized their dog area. Would be more understanding if there were more amenities, but seems like a classic case of keeping dogs from lower income homes away because… what, people who pay $50 for membership and live in a wealthy suburb inherently have less aggressive dogs? Give me a break.
