It was ok. We just wanted to find somewhere to eat and have our little one to play after lunch. It was decent and the trees provided a lot of shades so you can sit down where it's not too hot under the hot sun.

Nice hiking trails, shady trees, green grass, a friendly place for dogs, a great fenced area with slides and swings, and an energetic skateboard space where younger and older folks mingle together. No water in the pool, and it seems so neglected and filthy, but hopefully this will change sometime in the future.

I go to dog park area in the south end at least 5 days a week. Peak times are in the mornings around 8 am, and the evening around 6 pm or an hour before sunset, whichever is earlier. Usually 15 to 30 dogs in the evening, 3 to 15 in the morning. On the south end is a pair of fenced areas for the dog park. The areas are labeled as large and small, but that is not how it is used. There is a large tree shading the north fenced in area, making it cooler. So in the summer, people prefer that side, and prefer the south side in the winter. The other side gets used by dogs that are not socialized yet, so that they can safely socialize through the fence. Once they calm down they slowly get integrated. Amenities: Water and plastic bags are provided by the city, and supplemented by people who use the park. There is a concrete pad and bench near the entrance, and 2 other pads and benches in each area. Poop: You are expected to pick up after your dog. If you can’t find it, and find another pile, get that one, as long as you remove a pile it counts. Usually there are no obvious extra piles. We try and keep the park clean and inviting. Children: Children need to be accompanied by an adult, especially for the first few visits. New dogs: Have all of your shots, for puppies, this often means waiting till they are 8 weeks old. If your dog is not spayed or neutered, and fertile, it may cause fights, or make puppies. City rules say only fixed pets, but be sensible. Take off the leash before entering the park in the area provided. When it is on the leash, it will attempt to defend you, off the leash, it will play. The Pavilion: Nearby is a covered pavilion that gets used for birthday parties on the weekends, and as a dance and exercise area for a Martigras school organization in the summer evenings. Sometimes homeless people do go there, but they have been well behaved for the past year.

Great neighborhood park. I love that there is often several folks at the skate park. The dog park gets busy at peak times but is mostly completely empty

Our teenager loves this skate park and can't wait to go back.
