This is a great place for kids, pets, and adults. The playground is nice with a swing set, slides, climbing areas, and monkey bars. Bathrooms and covered tables are located right next to playground in the parking lot area. There are 2 dog parks adjacent to the playground for small and large dogs. The small dogs bark a lot and the larger dogs could sometimes be rowdy. Some may jump on you. The owners sometimes allow it so be cautious, and owners please handle your pets. The sidewalks are nice for walks and there is an 18 hole disc golf course area that is fun and challenging. Bring and exchange books at the free library stands throughout the park. Overall, this is a great place to see nature and to get exercise.

BE SAFE, Ladies! There are men out there in Purser Harker Heights Park following women, taking videos (with phones & META AI Glasses), and trying to approach women. Asking personal questions like where do you live? Where do you work? Or even a small group standing on the middle of the sidewalk creating a chokepoint to force direct engagement. I know it takes courage and guts to approach a woman but ganging up on a woman making her feel uncomfortable is a, NO! There was a group of white males this summer (2025) peacocking in a family park with women and children, running with their shirts off. It’s TX and the summers are brutally, hot but I have never seen men out there like that and approaching women inappropriately with their shirts off. That new sun will burn the skin off your back & chest without proper covering. They definitely were not US Army or military. Additionally, there is also a school aged little white boy on a scooter middle school aged out there with those men & women in the of the middle of the school day out taking photos and following. Seems like some kind of gang or scheme to monitor women & possibly harm or take advantage of women & young girls. Group of men and women posted in vehicles and in the park watching & lurking & following. They stage strategically and use the kid on the scooter as well to track & monitor. Just be careful, just got weirdo vibes out in the park over the last several months. I know the park can be a space to meet people but this gives off creep vibes and predators. I don’t want to be driven off from my community park that I love, but I no longer feel safe. Find alternative locations to workout or walk your dog. BE SAFE! Get some bear or pepper spray!

• Kids randomly throwing rocks by dry river side. ( Please control the rock throwing there’s no water to skip rocks on lol ). A head may be next. • Some dogs off leashes. That don’t look trained, Some on leashes but look ready to attack. Some very nice! • People very friendly. • People on bikes may or may not move around you. • Hot old and mature guys in short shorts. ( Giggity ) • Restroom should not be a playground it get to crowded, please clear the restroom for people who actually have to pee a lot while running I will nock you down ( jk ). • Ladies are supper nice they wave hi when walking! Love the park. - I’m a custodian I pick up side trash but hate to see how it’s maintained. They should move the branches to open up the river that’s dammed.

Great 1 mile walking path! Sometimes fire ants on edge of path, watch out for your kids that like to walk on the edge. Dog park for large dogs, separate for small dogs. Nice! It's fun to watch the dogs play. Trash cans along walk can reek of dog waste and IMO aren't emptied enough. Aggressive squirrels finally managed, whew! Multi-stall flush toilets. Lots of parking by the Y but sometimes super busy. No basketball hoop is a downside. I think it links to the long hike and bike trail, but not sure where. We love this park!
