This place was such a pleasant surprise to stumble upon in the middle of a residential neighborhood! We ended up staying for three hours and had a fantastic time. We started at the dog park, where the kids had an absolute blast using the dog play equipment as their own personal jungle gym. Honestly, I don’t think they even realized it was a dog park at first—until my daughter accidentally stepped in dog poop. For a while, we had the park to ourselves, but when other dogs and owners showed up, things got lively, and there was a bit of commotion over a ball. To give the space back to the dogs, we put our pup in the car and headed to the kids' playground. The playground was an even bigger hit. My son zoomed around on his bike nonstop while my daughter climbed, slid, and explored all the equipment. Both of them loved the swings, and we were all grateful for the open restrooms nearby—a thoughtful addition to the park! Despite it being such a nice day, there were only about two other families there the whole time, which made the experience peaceful yet surprising. After some time, we returned to the dog park to let our pup run freely again. The dog park has some great amenities, like a big dog bowl with a working spigot, so the dogs can stay hydrated, and they even provide poop bags—very convenient! The park felt safe the entire time, thanks to being in a lovely neighborhood, and we stayed well after dark. The only downside was that the next day, I noticed bites on my ankles and arms—probably from mosquitoes, or maybe fleas. They cleared up after a few days, but next time I’ll definitely bring bug spray. Overall, Rainier Woods Park is a hidden gem with lots to enjoy for both families and furry friends. It made for a memorable outing, and we’ll definitely be back—though a little more prepared for those pesky bites!
It's a good place to let your dog be free can get muddy but most parks around area do
It's a pretty cool little dog park. There's an agility course, a cute pet donations box, and a double fence entrance to keep unleashed dogs from getting loose and running off. The rules are posted near the agility course and they're pretty standard. It's muddy when it's wet out, and has some shady spots for cooling off. A few benches for the two-legged visitors too.
Very nice dog park as well as plenty of play space for kids, or just enjoying a sunny day
The dog park is set up like one I haven't seen before. Plenty of obstacles for your furry friend have all the adventure.
