This place is awesome everyone I’m Texas should come here even if you don’t live in Texas this place is so peaceful. The river does have a strong current. If you decide to go swimming, please be mindful of the swimming. They do have restrooms. They do have a restaurant there they have a zoo. They have disc golf. This place was all around awesome

I love this park. Hiking here and enjoying God’s nature is wonderful. The river is amazing, peaceful, and the city keeps the grass cut and everything tidy. It’s also quite natural. It’s definitely my favorite park.

Wonderful City Park - incredible for a town this size!
Great new large dog park, tons of sidewalks for running/walking, lots of picnic tables throughout the park; beautiful duck "pond", lots of sports fields, historic home with birding deck in the back, a lovely memorial rose garden, a golf course, and much more! This park is a destination unto itself! There is a City run RV park located on the grounds of the park as well.

I love the river itself... but I just wish people would be more considerate of the environment they're in. Trash is everywhere BUT the receptacles, and I worry about the wildlife that lives in such a littered habitat. Not only that there is bottle caps and probably glass everywhere on pebble beach. I was worried that I'd accidentally step on something, or that my dog would, and get hurt. Plus, not to mention the things I was worried he'd try to eat. Please, please, please do your best to take your Trash to the receptacles. Volunteers and park workers can only do so much. Plus, isn't it a shame to squander and stain the beauty of the environment you're in? And honestly, pebble beach is pretty bad, but the duck pond was just renovated and it's starting to get bad too. I saw a discarded bread bag in the water (also do NOT feed ducks bread it will make them sick, peas are a safe alternative) and a plastic drink lid the other day when I went to play my guitar there. If I had a long enough stick, I would have tried to fish it out, but again, volunteers and park workers can only do so much! But I am just ashamed of all of the people who just litter and do these things. I really, really, don't understand why you can't take it 10, 15 feet to the receptacles on the way back to your vehicle. I'll have to start wearing gloves and bring a stick with me to fish things out and throw them away. Honestly we could all do the same. The wildlife and the environment deserve better. The park workers deserve better. We deserve better.
