Please be careful around here. I got targeted and followed. I was visiting Fort Lauderdale and my boyfriend needed to take a work call. We needed to be checked out of our hotels before his work call. He was parked at his car to do his work call while I explored the park. It is a beautiful little park with lots of bird species. I needed to use the bathroom, but there’s no bathrooms at the park. I walked down to the Dunkin Donuts on the corner to use their bathroom. I was walking back to the park when a man who was sitting at the Dunkin Donuts came up behind me. He followed me back to the park. He was being overly friendly and trying to reassure me there wasn’t any danger here. He wasn’t going to leave me alone at that point. My boyfriend got off his work call, and I made it back to his car safely. I wouldn’t recommend coming here alone and be prepared for no bathrooms. The guy that followed me seems to know this area very well and frequents it. I don’t remember the guy’s name. He had dark hair and was average height. He wore gray sweatpants and a blue shirt. He was an older man, probably in his 50s-60s. He had a dark spot on his face. If you see someone looking like this that is overly friendly, tries to get you to follow him, and won’t leave you alone, be on guard and get to safety.
Super peaceful, neighborhood area, not yet a park, but great habitat, close to the river.
It is a nice area with very little to do. A few very short trails, no seating and plenty of mosquitoes.
Absolutely beautiful neighborhood with rich history and dreamy architecture.
The preserve is adjacent to the Argyle Canal allowing access to the water for canoes or kayaks. Don't let the overgrowth fool you, this passive park is full of beauty. There is a short mulch trail that is landscaped with native plants attracting a variety of birds and butterflies. Along the trail frequent signs aid in identification of native plants. It is a very peaceful location in a bustling city.
