I love walking on this trail. Nice and clean without much traffic. Beautiful birds 🐦 🐦‍⬛. Nice for cycling as well.

Easy access parking lot that's usually not filled, even on weekends. They have 2 EV charging plugs. They also have public bathrooms and 2 playgrounds in the park nearby. Very easy access onto the San Tomas Aquino Creek Trail.

This trailhead is at the south end of the best part of the trail. With Eddie Souza Park, it makes a good place to start if you're not within biking distance or to meet others to walk or bike the trail. As of August 2023, park restrooms and filtered, bottle-filling drinking fountain have finally reopened. Note that the trail is closed with a detour between Agnew and Tasman during events at Levi's Stadium. If you have a ticket to an event, show it to the people at the gate for admission and access to the stadium and valet bicycle parking. There is a solar charging station for electric cars.

This trail offers a diverse experience, beginning in an urban setting along El Camino Real. While the cityscape may not provide breathtaking views, the anticipation builds as you approach the bay shorelines. As you pedal closer, the urban backdrop gives way to a stunning shoreline vista. Imagine the tranquil beauty of the water stretching out before you, accompanied by the refreshing breeze. The middle of the week offers a unique advantage—the whole shoreline bike trail becomes yours to explore without crowds. With every pedal, immerse yourself in the natural splendor surrounding you, taking in the sights and sounds of the shoreline. Observe the rhythmic dance of the waves, marvel at the elegant flight of seabirds, and feel the warmth of the sun on your skin. This escape into nature provides a perfect respite from the hustle and bustle of city life. So, grab your bike, set off from El Camino Real, and discover the hidden gem of the bay shorelines—a trail that promises an urban-to-nature transition and a memorable journey filled with serenity and captivating views.

It is nearby and a very good trail in an urban setting. The only way it could be five stars is for it to be part of the Bay Trail or part of the Ridge Trail. On the other hand, more restaurants and bathrooms and libraries and parks and schools here. Until the Calabazas Creek trail to be built closer to my home, the San Tomas is best north-south separate from cars while Guadalupe is best east-west separate from cars.
