Scissortail Park is truly one of Oklahoma City’s greatest gems. From the moment you step into the park, it feels like a breath of fresh air woven right into the heart of the city. The design is beautiful, intentional, and welcoming every path, green space, and gathering area feels thoughtfully created for both relaxation and connection.
The park offers so much to explore. Wide walking trails, open lawns perfect for picnics or lounging, shaded areas, playgrounds, water features, and stunning views of the skyline all come together to create an experience that feels peaceful yet alive. Whether you’re there to walk, people-watch, spend time with family, or simply clear your mind, Scissortail Park meets you exactly where you are.
What really stands out is the atmosphere. There’s a sense of community everywhere families laughing, couples strolling, kids playing, musicians and performers adding life to the space. It feels safe, vibrant, and inclusive, a place where everyone belongs. The park somehow manages to feel both expansive and intimate at the same time.
Scissortail Park is also impeccably maintained. Everything feels clean, cared for, and respected, which speaks volumes about how much pride Oklahoma City takes in this space. It’s not just a park, it’s a living, breathing centerpiece of the city.
Whether you’re a local or visiting OKC for the first time, Scissortail Park is an absolute must. It’s a place to slow down, reconnect, and fall a little more in love with the city each time you visit 🌿✨

This park is amazing! It has varying views through the city and many artistic elements within it. I love that they used the city layout and landmarks to design it around. There really is something for everyone’s interests. From canoes, to sports courts, walking trails, and gardens, there is plenty to see and do. Plan for a couple of hours to see it all.

Very beautiful area. The walking path was picturesque and had benches along the way. I love the Lilly and native plant areas. Trees lined lined the way offering a bit of shade and butterflies were evident.
