This park is also awesome in the winter. A valley through in is the perfect place to go sledding. You go down one side up the other and back again. We like it better than Jones Park because there's not a parking lot at the end of the hill. Yet that is nice too. You can have someone pick you up and go back to the top without climbing the hill.
This park provides a quiet, peaceful hilltop experience. I noticed that the wading pool has been removed. That provided lots of refreshing entertainment for the neighborhood kids and their parents. The city decided they were a health hazard! It must be healthier for them to sit at home in front of the TV or on their phones?!? Are they going to close all the creeks next? SHAME ON THE CITY!!!
It's a fairly small park but the kids always love it. It has a pavilion, swings, slides, and other fun activities. 4/5 stars
A quiet fun little park. 11 acres on a dead end street with a playground and a pavilion. I've been bringing my children and grandchildren here for the last 40 years.
Other parks in cedar rapids are much nicer. Most of it is on a harsh slope. Only the one Pavillion is on a level service and the park is not very big.
