The crowd is the downer at times. A lot of homeless kids may not get a good visual experience but they are always very friendly. No issues otherwise. Restrooms are ALWAYS locked in the winter but inside the library they nevermind quick use.

During summer every Thursday evening they have a different band play live music all types of music, Friendly people having a great time. Dog friendly and many dogs in good behavior as well as a couple food trucks to choice from. Bring your picnic basket full of goodies and your park blanket bring the kids and have fun!

Shute Park and Recreation Area is over 100 years old yet, it is arguably the best park in town, combining natural beauty with top-tier community facilities. The park boasts a large main playground and separate smaller children's area with diverse play equipment. You can enjoy a peaceful walk on the nicely paved path surrounded by mature trees, flowers, and natural forest floor. Key Amenities: Recreation: A dedicated acoustic stage for events, a massive community Aquatic Center (SHARC) with multiple pools and an equivalent exercise room, and the adjacent modern Hillsboro Library. Gathering Spaces: A large gazebo and an even larger covered picnic area with power outlets and a big circular fire pit. Numerous open bench seats and individual picnic tables are available. Accessibility: Four conveniently located restrooms and accessible water spigots/fountains are on site.

Shute Park has paved, well maintained paths on level ground, accessible and wonderful for perambulating. The park has several attractions, not the least of which is the amphitheater, which is only bested by proximity to the local library. There is a sizeable well- kept playground, a raised garden, a covered area, many tables, and acres of lawn and forest to roam freely on. This park is also great for Pokémon. A detraction for the artistic skateboarding deterrent. Putting glitter on a brick doesn't make it hurt less when it hits you in the face.

Amazing park. We always go here. It's huge, they have a massive playground with like 4 slides. Swing sets, a huge walking path around the park and a stage. Many places to have a birthday party. We love this park. It's also right in front of the library and has great parking on either side of the park.
