Such a great environment! You can walk by the water or through tree lined paths with so much variety. They have top notch day camp programs. Look for the local wildlife too - deer, fox, turtles, ducks, geese, and more. There are some biking trails as well as the walking/hiking. Lots of options for any skill level.

The Maumee river ebbs and flows. This day, there was nearly any water. I took the risk, walked across the river rocks, across Blue Grass Island, and onto a rocky beach on the other side. The Maumee is really not much more than a trickle on that side either. I set a chair and enjoyed lunch while watching/listening to the water and the birds.

I love the entire Metropark system in Toledo. This is a unique nature, opportunity for people visiting or living in the area. The entire system is very well kept safe and always accessible with plenty of opportunity for recreational activities.

Side Cut is absolutely beautiful. It sits right along the river, and the scenery alone makes it worth the visit. There’s plenty of parking and easy access throughout the park, which makes getting in and out a breeze. The playground is large and great for kids of all ages, and the paved walking paths along the river are peaceful, clean, and perfect for a relaxing stroll. Whether you’re meeting up with family, getting some steps in, or just wanting a quiet spot to unwind, this park delivers. Highly recommend stopping by.
