Sonoma Dog Park in Carson City is a fantastic place for pups and their people! I've stopped by a few times, even after hours (don't tell anyone!), and I'm always impressed by the size and quality of the park. It's easily the largest dog park and open field area I've seen in Carson City, giving dogs plenty of room to run and play. I also appreciate the separate, enclosed kids' playground – it's a great feature for families with children of different ages. My dog, Rosy, is absolutely going to love this place. I'm looking forward to bringing her back during regular hours so she can socialize and get her sniffs in! It's a wonderful community asset, and I highly recommend it to any dog owner in the area.

Great place to wear your pooch out, the park is pretty big. It looks like the city is making more improvements, what a great place to have in the neighborhood.

Huge dog area with lush green grass. Kid area is just next to the dog area. Perfect for those with kids and dogs.

I really like this multiuse park. A small enclosed playground for children and a huge enclosed area for dogs. Both big and small dogs share the same space which could be a problem for some pet owners but I didn't have any issues. Waste bag stations, trash cans, benches and a water fountain are available. A porta potty is within the children's playground. The children's playground is currently closed for covid 19.

Great local 5-acre neighborhood park located between Sonoma and Stafford Streets for families with or without children and dog friendly. The main park is a large grass area that is fenced all the way around between both those Streets mentioned above with shade trees around the perimeter that Dogs are allowed in the park with the following restrictions: Dogs are allowed on or off leash under the owners control until 4:00 p.m. daily.  After 4:00 p.m. they must be on leash under the owners control. Dogs must be on leash whenever youth sports practices are being held in the park. There is a fenced in playground area on the Stafford Street side that has a jungle gym with swings, slides, play area, drinking faucet, picnic tables and park benches that dogs are not allowed in or near plus there is a nice grass area to play on too. Our dogs have an absolute BLAST here meeting up with their new and familiar furry friends on the weekend, walking around the park and playing in the nice park. Unfortunately no bathrooms facilities for adults/kids but on occasion a port-a-potty is here. Doggy bags and trash cans are provided here so PLEASE be sure to pick up after your furry kids so families and other dogs aren't stepping in messes - again please and thank you. Also, there is no H20 for the doggies or owners in the main part of the park, so now you know why my 4 stars and not 5 because it would be nice to see at least one water faucet outside of the playground area to be available for use. So be sure to carry water for you and your furry best friend on those warm days. Otherwise, this a GREAT little park that locals like us LOVE, we've been enjoying it for many years and will continue to wake up on the weekend to bring our furry kids down for doggy playtime again and again. Hobey and Sadie approved and they both give Two Paws Up!! LOL
