Big and beautiful park. We didn't get a chance to explore the entire thing, but we very much enjoyed what we did see. The 2 playgrounds were nice and well maintained, although they could maybe use a few more benches around for parents to sit on. The walk around the pond was relaxing, and we loved the docks. It seems like a great place to take the kids to spend a day. I highly recommend checking it out. We are from out of town but plan to come back when we are in the area again.

Southwind Park is a true gem in Springfield! The sprawling open areas are fantastic for everything from a leisurely stroll to a full-on game of frisbee. The park is impeccably clean and well-maintained, making for a really pleasant experience. The views surrounding the lake are simply beautiful – perfect for a peaceful moment or a scenic backdrop for a picnic. What really stands out is the thoughtful inclusion of kids' activities, ensuring there's something fun for the whole family. It's a wonderful place to spend an afternoon and enjoy the outdoors. Highly recommended! Some pictures from the nightglow event

This is a really nice park. It has sensory gardens, a lake with fishing spots available, & water areas during nice weather. I didn't get to check out the tree house yet because it was damaged in a storm.

The park is completely accessible for people of all abilities, which is a big point in its favor. It has the look and feel of a new park which hasn't quite developed yet. We were interested in the various garden areas they show on the map, but most were just small lightly landscaped areas. Our favorite was on the south side of the park; I think it was the Gift of Hope, which had lots of giant hibiscus flowers when we visited in July. The little water features scattered throughout the park were interesting.

Nice playground with a water splash pad for the kids. They have fishing docks and a nice walking trail.
