One of Austin's artful gems! This former Northern power distribution station was elaborate by a grotto of walls and arches. The site mixes natural, rustic materials with polished industrial elements, creating a kind of naturalist steam punk aesthetic. The site's formerly functional building now hosts functions, a stylish brick event center at the park's center. There is a tiny parking lot and free street parking. Every Austinite should see this work of art at least once. It's a testament to how the city has evolved and outgrown itself while maintaining its weird hearts.

This was a very affordable space. There were a few amenities that were nice (fridge, sink, microwave) but the space wasn't cleaned before we arrived. We had to clean the counter tops and the freezer wasn't the best. There was also an issue with ants, inside and out. We did enjoy the space overall, especially for the price. I would recommend it for small gatherings, but be prepared to do a little clean up, before decorating

I love this little park so much, and each time happened to have visit with people I really love a lot. Creative, cool, and a really lovely spot if you’re in the neighborhood :) spiderhouse food trucks area is so close nearby too

What a FUN public park. The park itself is smaller than most, but what's within is fascinating. Built around a 1930 electrical substation is a 2008 grotto wall by local artist Berthold Haas (with help from the community) filled with treasures. It made for a fun stop on my morning run while staying in an Airbnb at nearby Hyde Park.

Cool little park with funky decorations and hidden surprises. Discovered because of Geocaching while on a visit for SXSW!
