fishing not the best bit nice
Not much of a park, and lot of trash and litter. Could be a nice spot on the water if it was properly managed.
Awesome spot to hang out, they keep it real nice and clean, and the fishing’s great too.
Oh man, I've lived long enough to now say things like "it ain't like how it once was" 😔 Personally I miss the days of having the docks on both sides. I've heard a slew of rumors about what will be but it remains the same. No less, us fisher's adapt to the conditions and there are still fish to be caught. However, if you haven't fished here before it's unlike pier fishing. When the locks are open the water flows, so bottom fishing if you will limits others from retrieving their lure. You can live bait fish but that requires understanding and typically you'll be close to the bulk head walls. This absolutely is not the place to simply just cast a shrimp in the middle and be stationary. For a couple reasons, you will snag rocks. You will hinder other's on the same side as you. Most importantly you won't catch much and you'll just piss people off. It's pretty simple honestly, the water moves. So if someone casts you need to see where they landed. There is no need to rush just to have a crappy retrieve. You have to pay attention to the people on the opposite side and time your cast. Otherwise you'll be that guy that sets hook on another person's line. Don't get me wrong, it's pretty funny to see and then the dejection when they realize it's some other idiots line. I kid you not. 15 people could be fishing at 1 time and if they all know the deal not a single one will snag each other. Unfortunately it's a free parking area and it's in L-Dub so there will be Kooks and Mooks. Good luck and clean up your shit! 😎
The so called chili fest was a big disappointment and the chili was not what I expected. I didn't think it was that great I didn't think that the people knew how to cook. And of all the chili fest I have been to this has got to be the worst. All I tasted was sauce I didn't taste any meat or beans. It was too mushy too unfavorable to over spicy. And that's what people then they don't know what they're eating.
