Love coming here for picnics with the kids. They love the discovery room with all the reptiles and the animals. We saw a fox and a coyote. An awesome SCNC worker fed a Turkey Vulture and answered all, I mean all of my children’s questions. They ask too many questions. She was very kind and patient.

Wonderful place to see a variety of beautiful and unique birds, reptiles and snakes, and coyotes. I learned a lot and loved it all! Greatly recommend a visit to the Hayward Bay Center as well!

Went here tonight for a talk about Bats and got to meet Peaches the Pallid Bat. Wonderful talk. I highly recommend the Hayward Area Rec Delisteict classes, informative and fun.

Hidden gem a few minutes from downtown Hayward. Great experience for the kids to see the rehabilitation of birds and animals such as the fox, and chicken and rabbits. Nice shady area in the valley. Occasionally you can see wild turkey

Cute little center. A good amount of animals. Definitely worth the free admission. My 2-year-old loved seeing the animals, playing in the little education center, and then throwing rocks in the little creek. They're are a few little trails and picnic tables. A great places to spend an hour or two.
