I have always loved this Greenway!! Very well kept-concrete. Some spots have offbeaten paths. Love the amount of wildlife I've seen. Dog friendly, family friendly. Great place to exercise, string up a hammock, or have a picnic! Definitely check it out!

Nice paved trail running the creek. My only criticism is the lack of connections. I saw two main ways to enter, from the abandoned AMC parking lot, and from the far back corner of Walker springs apartments. Some desire trails have been cut through the woods to connect other apartments like the Hudson, but they are muddy and steep. The two very large neighborhoods, Crestwood Hills and West Hills are basically disconnected entirely. The crosswalk on Bridgewater Rd that the neighborhood residents could enter through does not have a sidewalk and is somewhat busy to be walking on. Most shocking was how closely the greenway follows behind major retailers, but instead of smoothly connecting, it’s elevated with no staircase topped with barbed wire… so if someone living in the Hudson wanted to walk to Walmart, instead of heading down the greenway, they’d need to walk 20 minutes one way down Walbrook, which also does not have sidewalks. In my mind, city greenways should be about connecting the community neighborhoods to each other and to retail and dining that’s close by. This one seems to be developed more as a destination for bikers rather than a sidewalk alternative for the community. The idea is good, but after 35M invested and another 60M on the way, I would have guessed there would be better planning.

Nice open area to walk around , not crowded, and bikers are polite and warn you when they are behind you or coming around,. Some spots was a little flooded but not bad. Loved it

Very nice walk in West Knoxville. I like to start at the Westside Family YMCA, and walk all the way to North Peters Rd. and back, about 7 miles. Paved trail. Sometimes there are puddles after a rain and some shopping carts left by certain people. Joggers and bicyclists also use the trail, so listen for them approaching.
