I have only visited Tyler Creek once so far, but it seems like a very nice place. In this short review, I will encourage all potential visitors to see how nice it is and resolve to keep it that way. Stay on marked trails, leave no trace, greet everyone you meet.
Followed a weird humming into a clearing. Found a circle of frogs doing synchronized dance to a beat only they could hear. I clapped. They stopped. All turned to me. One slowly put on sunglasses and said, “You’re next.” Woke up at home with moss in my pockets and incredible rhythm.
This place is about 5 minutes drive from Voyageur's Landing Forest Preserve ( photo I shared earlier). Tyler Creek is a tributary to the Fox River, and starts at a point very near to this place ( close to Judson University) and flows for about 11 miles or so and vanishes abruptly somewhere along Illinois Route 72 ( at least that's what the map shows). This is one of the most lovely, peaceful and quiet places that I have visited in Elgin. The footbridge in the photo runs over Tyler Creek, and there is a cute bench at the end of the bridge where you can sit and watch the water flowing :). The Creek at this point is very shallow, and from time to time, I have seen many children and even grownups get into the water and play around :) There is also a park, picnic area at this place.
It's serene and quiet, with a stream in the background. Don't bring your dog here unless treated, it's infested with ticks.
A nice, quiet place to relax and enjoy the beauty of God's creation!
When Google exported structured hours, they’re surfaced here instead of being buried in the raw payload.
