Took my puppy here on Monday. I was the only one there. We went to the creek. She had a great time playing in the water. The only problem was the burrs. Lots of them! It would be great if someone took a weed wacker to them. Do not take a long haired dog there. You will be cutting off burrs. Other than the burrs it's a nice park.

We call it Kickapoo Creek Dog Park. Follows park district rules. Fabulous volunteers work on the trails. We love to take our dog there!

Huge unfenced park where dogs are allowed off-leash. A mowed grass path turns a dirt trail though the woods and provides nice views of Kickapoo Creek, as well as access to the water for the pups to swim. Following the trail all the way around makes a nice 1.5 mile loop. I would consider it an 'intermediate' since you sometimes have to step over logs. You'll see and hear a variety of birds including hawks. In the summer, the glasses grow tall and unfortunately it becomes heavily populated with ticks so be careful! Check yourself and your animals after visiting. It probably goes without saying, but if your dog is aggressive, or doesn't have a good recall command, keep them leashed or skip this park .
