I don't understand their low rating. I recently went to rescue a dog, and the process couldn't have gone any smoother. The staff was great, friendly, and grateful. Ray walked me through the process of adoption. He had me bring my current dog so that they could verify that both dogs got along. The meet and great was successful and the adoption process proceeded. Overall, great experience.

This morning around 9:00 AM, my neighbor and I called Victorville Animal Control about a stray dog in front of our neighbor’s house. The dog looked very sick and appeared to be about six months old, possibly a German Shepherd. We were concerned because it was cold outside and the dog seemed to be in poor condition. At approximately 11:30 AM, the dog walked into our front yard and settled under a shaded area. It remained there for several hours. During this time, I kept watch over the dog and continued to monitor its condition, which appeared to worsen as the day went on. By 12:30 PM, the dog looked much worse and was barely moving. I considered bringing the dog inside or taking it to a veterinarian, but because it appeared seriously ill, I was concerned about the potential health risks to myself and my pets. Instead, I contacted other neighbors and asked them to call animal control as well, hoping this would speed up the response. When I called again, I was told they would come, but no specific arrival time was provided. At approximately 2:00 PM, while I was still observing the dog, I saw that it had died right in front of me. After we called to report that the dog had passed away, animal control arrived about twenty minutes later. I am still deeply upset about what happened. I don’t know what was more distressing: waiting nearly five hours for help for a visibly sick dog, only for it to die, or having to watch its condition worsen and ultimately die in front of me. It was incredibly difficult to witness an animal suffer while repeatedly being told that assistance was on the way. What made the situation even more frustrating was that after we reported the dog’s death, animal control arrived within twenty minutes. These people are the worst of the worst.

Just tried to see the adoptable dogs. An officer was helping someone for aboutb10 min. She left and told us another lady woyld take us when she was done with the phone call she was on. We waited about 30 min. 20 min with no one in the main office, and we walked out. We are wanting to adopt, and saw a couple option on their website, but they don't want to adopt their dogs out here

It was so heartbreaking to see these poor babies so skinny and fearful at Costco! I can’t believe how these animal control employees treat the poor doggos they did not want to go back to the shelter for sure and this employee was smacking the poor husky on the head!😔 like they are just scared of going back ! You bring them to be shown not be mistreated! Unbelievable! Why are these poor animals malnourished? Doesn’t the county pay for everything this shelter needs to be investigated!!! Unacceptable the only reason I didn’t take photos was because they were already going back! We are going to visit this shelter for sure! Outrage! Do better! The homeless have better looking doggos than this shelter so sad! Devastating!

The worst service I've ever had. Neighbor's dogs attack my dog, animal control does nothing. Repeated offenses from the neighbor's dogs, and animal control still does nothing. They seem annoyed having to do their jobs for some reason. I call they, hang up, I make a report through E-mail, and they never reply or give single sentence answers as if that solves the issue. I'd have better service talking to the ants in my backyard than the absolute buffoons here that refuse to sort out any issue or work at all.
