A great place for jogging or walk along the park. Very nice. Very peaceful. Nice view of the mountains.

A wonderful little retreat from the desert. Great for a walk and some birdwatching... In the summer, there are probably thousands of birds that call this place home including many babies

It’s quite and have some small fountains. Also, there are dedicated places for fishing.

Surrounding trail is exactly 1 mile around the lake. Kids park is metal so slides get sizzling hot in summer. Lots of ducks geese and other fowl.

I have mixed feelings about this park. If one is visiting it for the first time, then overall it has a nice look and feel to it. Obviously the plus is, you've got a little lake situated right in the middle of Reno (We are in the High Desert with little to no bodies of water period). So it definitely breaks the monotony. If you like to walk for exercise, then it's definitely the place for you! It's a mile around the entire lake, so you can get that heart rate up and walk a couple miles. If you've got a dog, then more power to you. There are A LOT of birds. And I mean a lot! They can be loud at various times of the day, and there's a lot of bird poop to go with them. But, overall it's manageable... Now, here's the downside. If you're thinking about a late night stroll or visit, then I highly recommend against it. Before I really knew the area, and we were living very close to the lake. I would go run it at night. 5-6 times around and I was good. But I noticed the later I ran, the creepier the area became. You've got guys driving real slow around it, looking for God knows what. Or perhaps a drug deal in one of the parking lots. Either way, the later it is, the least safer it becomes. There is an occasional police cruiser that makes itself known by circling the lake a couple times. But overall, it's great in the daytime- lots of trees and shade. And when the summer days are upon us, there is always something about being around a body of water that makes the heat a bit more tolerable....
