Nicely maintained park. Several shade areas off to the sides of the soccer fields but bring your own umbrella or ez-up for shade during the games. Restrooms, snack bar, and playground all located adjacent to the soccer fields. Lots of parking. Only issue was there wasn't any signage to indicate the soccer field number.

Walnut Grove Park is gorgeous! The surrounding scenery is breathtaking with the mountains by Mesa Rock. This park has massive lawns and an amazing running trail around the park which continues on Sycamore Drive as well. Because there are horse arenas on the premises, I was hoping my son would be able to see some equestrian practice. Unfortunately, the only horses we saw were the ones grazing on some grass at a house nearby. 📍1950 Sycamore Dr, San Marcos, CA 92069 🚙Plenty of free parking in lots surrounding the whole park 💰This park is free ⏰Park hours: outdoor areas are sunrise to sunset 🎠There are 2 separate play structures. There is one with standard and bucket swings on all mulch ground surface. The playground without swings is on a rubber/mulch ground surface 🚽Restrooms at both playgrounds 🧺Multiple picnic tables under pavilions 🍔Charcoal grills 🌄Beautiful Mountain Views 🖼Gigantic lawns (parts of which double as soccer fields) 🌳Not very many shady trees so make sure you wear sunscreen and have water 🌟Clean grounds 🛣Good distance away from busy roads 🏘Tucked into a quiet beautiful neighborhood 🥾Dirt trail surrounding entire park and extends beyond the park along Sycamore Dr. 🚲Paved path perfect for small bikes, scooters, roller blades. It doesn’t surround the entire park like the dirt trail does, but it does extend beyond the park along Sycamore Dr. 🐴Horse arenas on the premises so you might get lucky and see some horses 🚜We were lucky enough to see a tractor pulling a few trailers full of plants to the nursery across the street 🎉Event center (big red barn) 🏠Heritage Park historical center is currently closed due to COVID

We stopped to see the Cherry trees! Beautiful large recreation park with a separate playground and soccer field with accessible horse trails. There's a barn house for party or wedding events. The city replaced the main playground with a massive amazing equipment that serves all ages. Lots of climbing structures for young ones to grow into.

I really love this park. It's beautiful , manicured and well taken care of. Looking for a place to play sports , hold an event in the recreational house , look at some historical homes or maybe just enjoy the horse trails. There's plenty it offers.
