Spacious area that extends to beach. Few areas with shade. The small covered area gets crowded to escape the sun. Bring your hat and sunscreen. Dog clean up hoses. Benches throughout. There are dog walkers who come here with 10 dogs or more, they cannot have control over- beware. Last visit, one woman had 12 dogs she was wrangling out of car. She brought a few inside, left them unattended and went back to car to get other dogs. The beach area is great.

Good to have an off leash area, but the ground is largely dirt and gravel due to heavy use. The grass has suffered. Would prefer a bit more nature for the dogs. There’s a path to the lake and a swimming area that the water-inclined dogs love. Good fencing with entry and exit fenced anterooms to keep dogs from bolting in or out. Water and bowls available. People do a pretty good job of cleaning up their dog’s messes, fortunately. Parking can be tight during busy times, but not too bad because people are coming and going frequently.

New to Washington and I kept hearing suggestions to come here. Now I understand why! The park has a few areas that look like a regular dog park but then there is a walkway that continues back to a dog beach area. I will mention that I appreciate all the 'air locks' between the path and the beach. I was worried if my dog ran ahead he would just have access to the water before I caught up, but that was definitely not the case. We've been here a few times now and everyone has been super friendly.

Go-to dog park. The dog park loop is ~1mi, excluding the lake portion. Clean, some gravel, some sand, some grass. Nice dogs and pawrents. The lake portion for the dogs is small, but enough for lots of fun. Amenities: trash bins, trash bags, port-a-potty, double gates, water station for drinking and rinsing, excluded small dog park for the tinier friends.

I love Magnuson park, and so does my girl. The off leash area is huge; there’s room to play, room to walk, room to swim, and room to play some more. In general, the other people and pooches have been just fine. I come often and have yet to witness anything ghastly, which is a nice reprieve. The entrance smells pretty strongly of urine, from all the pished-on-gravel, but don’t give up and keep it trucking! The smell disappears a couple yards ahead. If your dog enjoys the water, take the not-nothing-but-still-simple walk to the beachfront. Great rocks and low tide there.
