Lovely historic park with an amphitheatre. It was built during the early twentieth century and features walking paths, amazing war memorials, and incredible trees. No playground or similar amenities. It's for relaxing and walking with an occasional concert or community event such as the annual art show. Also the park maintenance folks keep it looking great.

I love this small community park in the west end of Allentown PA!! My children called it the "tree park" when they were growing up because of all the different types of trees that are planted here. If you are interested in the history of the park, you can read about/see how the park was planned along with an explanation of why they put the trees where they are by reviewing the placard at the east side of the park. There is a beautiful band shell where local municipal bands. A few of the local bands I have seen perform there are Pioneer Band of Allentown, Allentown Band and the Allentown Marine band amongst a few others not listed here, perform concerts for the public. When the park was designed also planned a section of the park that has been dedicated to the fallen war heroes of Allentown PA and I absolutely love the beautiful fountain in the center of the park (currently off for the season)!! There are benches along the paths that run through West End Park as well as an area where you can sit in a small grove of trees. Families and friends can donate to the park and it's wonderful foliage and atmosphere in the memory of someone they lost. I am not certain of the criteria for donations or memorials for loved ones who have passed away. There isn't a playground in this park, however, one can find open space in the grass to spread a picnic or to play some stickball with the local kids as I saw them playing this game from so long ago just last week!! Among This truly is a treasure here in our great city of Allentown PA!!

Very small park but it has a lot to see. It has a lot of monuments and statues with a lot of history associated with them. *For those that play Pokemon go, this place has a lot of pokestops.* The only negative thing here is that even though they have washrooms, they are locked. What's the point of having them if you just keep them locked? There is a pretty nice fountain with benches around it.

I love this park, I always like performing on the stage and singing my little heart out! Kind of wish the bathroom's worked though, it's so relaxing

Gorgeous jewel of a city park with myriad trees anchored by a magnificant fountain in the center. Bandshell features concerts in season on the west end. A walk through this park is meditative as if walking a labyrinth.
