Dothan has the best walking trail of any city I have ever visited. I had the pleasure of living across the street from it for several years and it was a staple in my week. The trail has both a walking and bike path and is right at 5km long and is in a circle. There are several restrooms and water stations along the path as well. If I had to guess it it approximately 60-70% shaded which makes it perfect to stay out of the sun and to keep you cool in the summer. I sure miss this trail and I come back when I visit Dothan. They have also added work out stations along the trail and there is a playground for kids. This trail surrounds the Westgate Complex which includes a water park, an indoor pool, gym, basketball courts, a tennis complex, soccer and softball fields and more!

Fantastic 3.3 walking trail! Westgate is very wooded and dog friendly with lots of stations for poo bags and trash. There are even water stations for the pups.

Walked the trails this morning and loved it. This park has trails that are part paved and part natural which makes it so much better. The trails are a little over 3 miles and there are sections that are marked out exclusively for bicycle riders and separate for walkers/ runners. I think its a great place for daily exercise. I will be going there often.

Great walking trail! It's clean and there are plenty of beautiful trees around. The walk is shaded for the most part, but there are a few parts where you will have to walk in the sun for a bit.
