Get ready for a hike! A serious hike as this park is in the foothills. I'll give myself a time limit, say 45 minutes. After that, I look for a trail leading back to the car, or just turn around. Remember to take water. One thing you HAVE to remember, there is no split rail fence. It's posts with 3 rows of wire. Straight wire, so it's more of a suggestion. As long as your pup has some level of recall, your good. There is another thing to keep in mind, I've counted at least 3 prairie dog colonies right on the other side of the suggestion fence. My propane tank of a black lab can reach them in seconds. After chasing him around, I get to do the walk of shame back to the trail with him leashed. The colonies are near the road above the main parking lot. Honestly, there were more than a few dogs on leashes. Speaking of main parking lot, there are 2. The second one is smaller. After hiking around the foothills, you may find yourself at the wrong parking lot, about a mile away from the other one. This park is so big, you can stay in the interior and not even worry about the suggestion fence or prarie dog colonies. It's hard to describe how massive this place is, but your dog will be living his best life here.

Love this open space to bring my dogs! They always have an amazing time. There is a creek that gets some water during the summer and the pups love to get in it. Got a few hills to do hikes and mtb as well. Have never encountered a snake or anything like it but there are signs to still beware.

This has been my every day go to place to find peace and walk my dogs. 440 Open acres of Offleash dog park. I can ride my bike, run the trails, and the views are amazing. I can see Denver Boulder and eventhe rock. We need to take care of this place. Respect each other activities. And clean up after our pets. No matter how far you are from the trailhead it's always worth packing out your poop.

I've been coming to this OFF LEASH dog park for 15+ years - before the south entrance and parking area, before the housing development to the north and the "official" bike trail, and when there was water in the pond by the cottonwoods - heaven on earth for dogs! Love it! The only suggestion for dog owners is please don't bring your dogs on leash and expect everyone else to adapt to you. If you choose to have your dog on leash, for whatever reason, and do not want other dogs to come up to them and be dogs, please go someplace else where you can walk with your dog on leash. That way everyone can be happy. Happy trails, Happy tails!😉
